World Class City Band

An Evening Of Big Band

directed by John Dale Smith

Saturday August 26th 2017 at 8pm
One night only!

Under the direction of John Dale Smith, the World Class City Band performs big band music with strong horns, a driving rhythm section, and the desire to take you back to the “Era of Swing”.   The World Class City Band first performed at the Michigan Small Business Convention and was an instant hit for the event.

Following intermission, WCCB will be on a mission to move your souls with Blues Brothers music, Chicago tunes, Motown sounds, and pop classics from the fifties to today. In addition, the band features easy listening favorites designed to appeal to all age groups and musical tastes.

Each member of the group has a colorful musical background including professional performances with world famous entertainers such as The Moody Blues, Mitzi Gaynor, Marvin Hamlish, Maureen McGovern, Sally Struthers, and magician Harry Blackstone. Some of the musicians have performed at Wharton Center and other venues in Broadway shows such as Evita, Annie, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Raincoat, Motown The Musical, The Adams Family, and many others. Many musicians are seen and heard in the pit at area community theater productions.
